The Queen Street Mall offers an unrivalled mix of local, national and international labels and flagship stores. Wednesday Markets at top of Mall attract shoppers buying. In fact you would be hard pressed to visit Brisbane, go shopping and not go there. All types and styles. Lunch time crowds often make for interesting scenarios. There is a helpful customer service desk inside the Myer Centre on Level Q but the big Brisbane Visitor Information and Booking Centre is in the middle of the mall, just outside the Wintergarden. Sooner or later, they all make their way to Queen St Mall.


There is parking available in the Myer Centre and also in private carparks around the city but bus and train are by far the best options for a day trip to the city. Only tip, avoid the weekend. On The Mall, Gilhooleys or another nearby pub. This is a great place to spend a couple hours shopping or eating when you have nothing else to do. Queen Street Mall is a beautiful shopping area in Brisbane, with shops ranging from Coles to Chanel and everything in between. Out of these shopping centres you will find chain stores, boutiques, restaurants, cafes, you name it! Queen street mall has grown throughout the years, there are always new shops and boutiques being open that it is hard to keep up! It contains and is close to pretty much anything you would expect a city to have all in one place and all mashed together. Most public transport routes. The Wintergarden is a smaller shopping complex, probably a bit more upmarket than the Myer Centre. Naturally souvenir places about as well. You can not difficult spend an entire day looking through the vast array of shops.


The result is a bit of a bottleneck with the huge crowds walking around on weekends. These in turn contain all the stores you would expect to see in Australia. Newly fledged Brisbanites and visitors should allow a day to luxuriously explore the mall. You can not difficult spend a full day here, so make sure you eat some great sushi at Hanaichi Wintergarden or grab a smoothie from the centre of the mall to sustain you. For starters there are three main shopping centres. Even contains strip clubs. This Brisbane icon was our first pedestrian mall, and it was in serious danger of falling into a mess of chain stores and tourist traps a few years ago. One tip to foreigners: the Queen Street Mall can be a dangerous place at night.


The standard place to meet in Brisbane is outside HJs in the mall. If I had to pick the best shopping centre on Queen st it would be the Myer Centre as it offers something for everyone. Even got the department stores like Myer, David Jones. If you want to do some serious shopping, Queen Street mall is the place to go. If have a lot of shopping to do in one day, come to Queen st, it is the best option. During the day this place is a hive of activity, however that suddenly stops at around 9pm at night when all of the shops close and the inhabitants vanish to find entertainment elsewhere. This is a pedestrian mall, much like any other. CCTV has also helped towards curbing a lot of this behaviour. The Myer Centre is a six level giant with Coles Express at the bottom and Birch, Carroll and Coyle cinema at the top.


Except maybe 3am on a weekday. If you love shopping then this is the place for you. Thankfully, the Queens Plaza development and the ongoing Wintergarden facelift has resuscitated the shopping strip and Brisbane City Council has kept up by doing renovations in the common space. But yes, it IS central to everything, and everything you might need is within reach. Has a bit of everything. Smoking is banned in the mall. It did look dated. At some level, I feel lame for not exploring other options or areas.


This is the best Myer in Brisbane, it is 4 levels and has most of what you are looking for. All kinds of cafes, restaurants, clubs, bars and pubs. In addition to some designer brands on their lower level, their upper level focus on lifestyle and fine dining with a Goodlife Health club, Strike Bowling and restaurants such as Wagamama and Hanaichi Sushi Bar. Check out the Myer Centre, Wintergarden or the Queens Plaza. This would have been just a mild night out in the past. In between the three big shopping centres, the mall is dotted with shops, cafes and alleyways.


Leona Edmiston, Alannah Hill, Review, Saba and Jigsaw just to name a few. Christians, its the Communists, not that their message was any different as far as he was concerned. But even then, you might still find people. The center of Brisbane. This is the place to go to indulge in a party frock or ten. There is a sale rack up the back of the store which sometimes has absolute bargains. There are styles here normal people could pull off without looking out of place. It looks chic, it looks bohemian, it looks trendy and it looks very fashionable. With so few reviews, your opinion of Colette Brisbane City could be huge.


You have a great collection, a shop full of cool ranges of bags, wallets, gift boxes and jewellery. Due to the size and how busy it can be, you may find yourself bumping into people but there is so much to choose from plus the staff are very friendly that you could spend an hour or so browsing. The quintessential Colette collection all in the one place. And the prices are surprisingly affordable. Worth checking out if you need accessories that will last longer than a night out.
